TRACER 9 GT+ is the first Yamaha motorcycle to be equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). The system automatically controls cruising speed, deceleration and acceleration to match the speed of the vehicle in front and maintain constant following distance, based on four adjustable pre-sets, making highway riding smoother and more comfortable.

A new seven-inch full-color TFT meter features a high luminosity display for rich, clear easy-to-read information on real-time running conditions.   • Suspension semi-active KYBMD intégrée

  • Lightweight Forged Pistons
    • Superior quality lightweight forged pistons allow for smooth, high-revving power.
  • Offset & Direct-Plated Cylinders
    • The CP3 engine mounts its three cylinder bores forward, towards the exhaust side. This offset reduces the piston to cylinder wall friction, creating more power and improved fuel economy while the direct-plated ceramic-composite cylinder bores provide excellent heat dissipation and reduced friction.
  • Assist & Slipper Clutch
    • The Tracer 9 GT+ features an Assist and Slipper (A&S) clutch for a lighter clutch lever pull and smoother chassis behavior during downshifts.

CHASSIS / SUSPENSION

  • New Radar linked Unified Brake System
    • For a high degree of stability and control, the Unified Brake System incorporates a hydraulic unit that automatically distributes braking force from rider inputs to both wheels in an unobtrusive way. The Tracer 9 GT+ is the world’s first motorcycle to adopt an innovative new radar-linked system that assists the rider’s braking input when required and adjusts front/rear braking bias when the distance to the vehicle in front closes to a certain level. The system will only provide braking assistance when the Brake Control is turned ON and the rider is braking—it is not a collision avoidance system. Additionally, the system includes cornering brake control which automatically adjusts braking force to inhibit tire slippage when the machine is leaned over.
  • Lightweight CF aluminum die-cast frame  
    • To achieve both sporty performance and excellent riding comfort, the Tracer 9 GT+ adopts a lightweight aluminum frame with model-specific tuning. Using Yamaha's exclusive Controlled Filling (CF) aluminum die-casting technology, this frame features the thinnest sections ever on a Yamaha die-cast frame.    
  • KYB semi-active suspension  
    • Fully adjustable electronic suspension front and rear is governed by the 6-axis IMU and ECU which activate a Hydraulic Unit (HU) and Suspension Control Unit (SCU). Damping settings are instantaneously adjusted via a solenoid in order to achieve a smooth and secure ride—regardless of the load or riding conditions. Mode is set through the TFT interface.
  • Lightweight SpinForged wheels    
    • The lightest design ever fitted to a production Yamaha –  the SpinForged wheels on the Tracer 9 GT reduce unsprung weight for superior suspension feel and performance. These ultra-light wheels also contribute towards the Tracer 9 GT’s exceptional fuel efficiency.
  • Adjustable ergonomics
    • The Tracer 9 GT’s ergonomics can be easily adjusted to suit different physiques and riding styles. Changes to the ergonomics can be made by adjusting the footrests by 15 mm up or down, and the handlebar position can also be moved forwards by 9 mm and upwards by 4 mm by reversing the direction of the handlebar clamps, giving a total of eight different riding positions.
  • 2-position adjustable seat    
    • The Tracer 9 GT’s handlebar/footrest/seat layout has been carefully developed to give a sporty yet comfortable riding position that gives you controllability with comfort. A two-position seat enables tool-free height adjustment, enabling you to customize the ergonomics to match your riding style and physique.

    6-Axis IMU plus lean-sensitive rider aids    
    The Tracer 9 GT is equipped with some of the most advanced electronic rider aids in the class, giving you added confidence and precise controllability in different weather and road surface conditions. Developed from the R1M, the compact 6-axis IMU governs a lean-sensitive, three-mode Traction Control System (TCS), as well as a Slide Control System (SCS), front wheel LIFt Control System (LIF) and Brake Control system (BC). 
        
    Hard side cases    
    hard side cases with matching colour panels are fitted as standard equipment (each case can accommodate a full-face helmet). For a natural riding feeling, the cases are mounted to a fully floating carrier system. An optional top case can also be fitted.

    LED cornering lights    
    Next-generation LED cornering lights highlight the apex of every bend to help guide you in the darkest nights. Brightness is automatically increased as the banking angle gets steeper, giving a clear field of vision that allows for sporty riding long into the night. The system operates when the bike is leaned at more than 7 degrees at 5 km/h and above.

    Full LED lighting    
    Compact LED lighting is featured throughout the Tracer 9 GT. Separate high/low mono-focus headlights give the bike a dynamic new look and provide superior illumination in any situation. LED flashers reinforce the bike’s premium status, and a signature taillight enhances the bike’s agile looks and sporty feel.
      
    Bidirectional Quick Shift System (QSS)    
    The Tracer 9 GT comes equipped with an up-and-down Quick Shift System (QSS) for faster, smooth, clutchless gear shifting. A sensor on the shift rod detects movement, and the ECU momentarily cuts drive torque to the engine to give seamless mid-corner gear shifting that maintains chassis balance and stability with more relaxed cruising.

    Heated grips    
    Fully integrated 10-level heated grips are fully controllable by the handlebar scroll wheel and monitored by the TFT meter. Specially shaped grips feature thinner rubber that allows efficient transmission of the heat for all-weather riding comfort.

        
    Twin 3.5-inch TFT meters    
    Twin 3.5-inch TFT screens provide intuitive, easy-to-read data that enables you to focus on your riding while being kept fully informed. While the left screen displays key operational information such as speed, rpm, gear and rider aid mode, the right screen features non-critical data including odometer, temperature and tripmeters.
